These terms govern your use of SmartLocol's Google Business Profile monitoring and guidance services ("SmartLocol," "we," "us," or "our"). By using SmartLocol, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
1. Service Overview
SmartLocol provides a read-only monitoring service for your existing Google Business Profile (GBP). We do not replace Google's dashboard; we complement it by:
- Read-Only Monitoring: We connect to your GBP via Google OAuth and fetch profile data (address, hours, photos, verification status) for analysis.
- External Guidance: When we detect potential issues (verification lapses, NAP inconsistencies, policy flags), we send you step-by-step instructions on how to resolve them directly in Google's interface.
- Real-Time Alerts: Receive instant notifications if your profile is at risk of suspension or hidden status.
- Health Dashboard: View your profile's overall status, recent alerts, and recommended actions in one place.
2. User Responsibilities
2.1 Account Security
- You are responsible for safeguarding your Google account credentials.
- Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
2.2 Profile Management
- You remain the sole editor of your Google Business Profile.
- Follow all Google GBP policies and guidelines when making changes.
- SmartLocol's instructions are advisory—any edits must be performed by you within Google's official dashboard.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass or interfere with our monitoring systems.
- Use SmartLocol to commit fraud or engage in deceptive listings.
- Share access credentials with unauthorized third parties.
- Use SmartLocol to violate Google's APIs Services Policies or any applicable law.
4. Google API Services & Compliance
SmartLocol integrates with Google's Business Profile API and Places API (New). Your use of our service is also governed by the following Third-Party Service Terms:

4.1 API Access Limitations
We only use read-only API scopes. We cannot modify your business profile through our systems.
4.2 Service Dependencies
Our service depends on Google's API availability. Service interruptions may occur due to Google's maintenance or policy changes.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website to:
- Authenticate and maintain your session (essential cookies).
- Aggregate usage metrics via Google Analytics for performance monitoring (no personally identifiable data is collected or shared).
By using our website, you consent to our use of cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Data Usage and Privacy
SmartLocol's data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy. In summary:
- Data Collection: We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our service (your GBP data, account info).
- Data Protection: All data is encrypted and stored securely. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with marketers or advertisers.
- Your Rights: You can access, correct, delete, or export your data at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@smartlocol.com.
7. Service Limitations
7.1 What We Don't Do
- We do not create, edit, or claim GBP listings on your behalf.
- We do not scrape or access any GBP listings you have not explicitly connected.
- We do not guarantee that Google will accept or implement any recommended changes.
7.2 What We Provide
- Continuous read-only monitoring of your GBP data.
- Timely alerts about policy or verification issues.
- Clear, actionable guidance to fix issues via Google's own interface.
- A dashboard showing your profile's health and recent alerts.
8. Account Management
8.1 Account Suspension
We may suspend or restrict access to SmartLocol if:
- You violate these Terms or Google's API policies.
- We detect malicious activity or unauthorized usage.
- Required by law or at our discretion for security reasons.
8.2 Account Termination
- You may delete your SmartLocol account at any time via the account settings page.
- Upon termination, we will delete all associated personal and profile data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
Service Availability
SmartLocol uses best efforts to maintain uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for outages, API rate limits, or Google policy changes that affect functionality.
Business Outcomes
We provide monitoring and guidance only. We do not guarantee any specific business outcomes (e.g., improved search rankings).
Third-Party Actions
We are not responsible for Google's actions (suspensions, removals) or for changes to Google's platforms that impact your GBP.
No Unintended Consequences
Follow our instructions at your own discretion. We are not liable for any inadvertent consequences of changes you make to your GBP.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California (excluding conflict-of-law principles).
Any disputes arising under these Terms must be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect service changes or legal requirements.
We will notify you via email and in-app notifications at least 30 days before material changes take effect.
